Synopsis

NYU Thesis Short Film / “POP!” is a mother-daughter dramedy. Jennifer Yang is a Chinese-American woman (32 years old), who is still living at home with her Tiger-Mom mother, Pearl. Jennifer is suffering from adult acne. Jennifer is dragged around by Pearl to help her clear her adult acne, as Pearl wants to bring Jennifer to the Chinese American Chinese New Year banquet. Through this Jennifer realizes that she can never fully measure up to her mother’s wishes and desires.
